Summary

Morgan Concrete Company is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to assist the Chief Financial Officer with day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring timely reporting of financial and tax-related obligations.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Complete monthly inventory count sheets and reconciliations
  • Process monthly payroll accruals
  • Prepare monthly depreciation estimates
  • Generate sales tax reports, reconciliations, submissions, and ledger entries
  • Allocate Workers’ Compensation expenses by department
  • Manage IFTA fuel tax mileage reconciliations and reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Enter manual checks and related ledger entries
  • Process inventory variation entries
  • Coordinate inventory transfers between plants
  • Manage labor and equipment transfer entries
  • Complete recurring monthly journal entries
  • Process monthly septic tank costs
  • Prepare land rent invoices
  • Record truck and equipment lease charges

Requirements

  • College degree in Business or Accounting preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Strong math proficiency required

Essential Job Function:

  • Maintain a clean exterior and interior of the truck.
  • Comply with all OSHA safety requirements & policies, as well as report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the plant manager.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to read GPS, a city, or a county map.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Issued Commercial Driver’s License – Class A or B
  • DOT Medical Card
  • Must be insurable by the Company’s insurance carrier and not have points on license more than the insurance company’s acceptable policy.
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical and D.O.T. and drug/alcohol testing.

  • 3-5 Years of experience in Diesel Mechanics (concrete industry or related industry preferred) OR 1-3 Years with a vocational or technical degree in diesel mechanics
